It's been a while

since I've posted, and I've done three new paintings! I'm not sure why I have this blog on my portrait website when it seems that all my concerns are about my Sylvia paintings. They can all be seen at my other website, www.lauriesartwork.com/sylvia.

These three are similar in that I put Sylvia into premade images that are pretty well known. I tried to paint Sylvia in the style of the piece she was invading. I found it an interesting challenge.

I also like to wonder how the intent of the original work changes with Sylvia's presence. Lot's of ideas could be tossed around, but the one painting is obvious in that Sylvia just wanted to meet God.
